The Heart of It All – Why The School of Expansion Exists

Jun 29, 2025

The purpose of this post is to express why the work here is important to me.

In order to do this, a few personal experiences must be shared to adequately paint the picture.

The year is 2015, not long after graduating college, I decided to travel west to "figure out what I wanted to do with life."

All I knew is that I wanted to start a business for myself, but what?

Aimless and without a role model to provide guidance, I turned to the one place I knew with answers... Google.

I started searching things like, "What do I need to learn to start a business" or "What books should business owners read"

To my surprise, very few things were actually about "business." The vast majority of things were about understanding yourself.

After looking through a number of lists on suggested reads, this one book kept repeating itself on  every list. It was called Think & Grow Rich.

And of course, with an interesting title, extraordinary reviews, and young mind fixed on riches, I decided to purchase it.

Now I must say, neither The School of Expansion nor my own viewpoint revolves entirely around this book. But the reason this book is mentioned is because of what it did to my mind—it  expanded my understanding of reality.

It was the first time in my life that I was ever explained the reality and significance of thought. Never before had I ever considered the validity of my "inner world." Nor how my inner world affects my experience in the outer world.

From the very start of the book, I could sense its truth—as if I was given a photo album of my youth that re-awakened forgotten memories.

I remember the very moment, exactly where I was sitting, as this expansive feeling came over me and as if I got a glimpse into the future; I said without any hesitation, "I'm to teach this."

I'm not even sure it's accurate to say I "said" it, but those were the words that rang clearly in my consciousness.

That was in 2015, and I haven't been able to ignore it ever since...

As I continued to read, I found myself both excited and disturbed; "Why was this not taught to me sooner? Why isn't everyone taught this?"

I made up my mind that this was the most important thing I could dedicate myself to learning and immersed myself in the study.

What became increasingly disturbing was how much literature there is on the mind and how little it's taught.

I kept thinking, "How can we have so much valuable information that people don't seem to know or care about? This is literally the foundation of our existence and affects all of us the same."

The interesting thing is, that as I first started consuming this and gingerly shared bits with others, I got a good bit of push-back with many acting as if it's foolish to believe our thoughts affect our reality—"But how do you explain the placebo effect?!" I would say or think internally...

With that push-back came a bit of inward resolve that I would understand it to the best of my ability so I could explain it gracefully.

Now, how gracefully I can explain it, that's for whoever hears to decide; but what I do know is that I'm at a point within myself that must share it—or at least I'm no longer to shy away from it.

It's not for me (or The School of Expansion) to "convince" you of anything. We're merely here to present the information and allow you to do what you will with it. But it certainly does no use to hold onto it when it can undoubtedly provide benefit to those who care to apply it.

Of course, these statements are vague at the moment, but this is to lay the foundation of things to come.

If we can all gain a greater understanding of who we truly are and how we operate, I truly believe that the world would be a much better place. For we would all find out our own inner source of solace and well-being.

This is not to say that we never experience highs and lows (though I'm not one to say what's impossible), it's simply to say we gain a better understanding of these fluctuations and put ourselves in a position of power to rise above the lows more of the time.

With this power, coupled with love (which is arguably the root of it all), comes the innate desire to assist others in rising above their lows.

Haven't you noticed how natural it is to lift up another when you're feeling empowered yourself?

Well think of the ripple effect this could have as we all learn to tap into our innate empowerment.

That's the aim of The School of Expansion. To become empowered so we can empower others.

This starts with an awareness and understanding of who we are and how we operate.

We must expand our awareness and understanding. There's this old idea that says, "In all your getting, get understanding."

What greater understanding could we get other than that which allows for our complete and unrestricted soul expansion?

I'm not sure there is anything greater.

May this site, this organization, The School of Expansion, be a great contributor to the expansion of all.

So be it. So it is.
